As a Motor Vehicle Skills Assessor, you will deliver high-quality support and guidance to apprentices, ensuring progression, achievement, and successful completion of programmes across North Yorkshire and the North East.This role goes beyond traditional assessing — acting as an Apprenticeship Support Coach, you will provide additional capacity where required, helping learners stay on track and reach their full potential.Key ResponsibilitiesAct as a flexible delivery resource during staff absence or peak demandProvide surge support to improve learner progression, retention, and timely completionsCoach, support, and motivate learners ensuring all apprenticeship elements are achieved in line with awarding body, ESFA, and Ofsted requirementsConduct learner progress reviews, maintain accurate records, and complete all required documentationPlan, prepare, and deliver engaging learner workshops to develop knowledge, skills, and behavioursSupport, challenge, and inspire learners to reach their goals, ensuring a high-quality apprenticeship journeyBuild positive relationships with learners, colleagues, and stakeholders to ensure effective programme deliveryTravel frequently to apprenticeship delivery sites (Catterick, Newcastle, York, Ripon, and Thirsk) to provide on-site supportWhat You’ll Bring✅ Significant experience as a qualified assessor✅ Strong motor vehicle/mechanical industry background✅ Solid understanding of apprenticeship/work-based learning deliveryQualifications Required:Certificate in Assessing Vocational Achievement (CAVA) or equivalentMaths & English GCSE (Grade C/4 or above) or equivalentMinimum Level 3 Vehicle Mechanic qualificationSecurity RequirementsAbility to obtain and maintain Security Check (SC) clearanceEnhanced DBS (EDBS) required
