Job Description Consultant Psychiatrist Neurorehabilitation Location: York Salary: 109,179 125,637 per annum (DOE, Pro Rata) Hours: 21 hours per weekAbout the RoleWere seeking an experienced Consultant Psychiatrist for one of our clients to lead and develop specialist psychiatry provision within a neurorehabilitation hospital setting. Youll work within a bio-psycho-social recovery model, helping individuals with acquired brain injuries and associated conditions to rebuild independence and quality of life.This role combines clinical leadership with strategic input across multidisciplinary teams, offering the opportunity to shape and enhance holistic, person-centred psychiatric care.Key ResponsibilitiesLead on psychiatric provision for adults with acquired brain injury within a rehabilitation hospital.Act as Responsible Clinician for patients detained under the Mental Health Act.Conduct regular psychiatric reviews and contribute to multidisciplinary goal planning.Provide expert clinical leadership, supervision, and guidance to colleagues and junior medical staff.Offer evidence-based psychiatric interventions as part of a multidisciplinary care model.Oversee pre-admission assessments and suitability reviews for new service users.Participate in an on-call rota in collaboration with local healthcare partners.Liaise effectively with families, external professionals, and other clinical teams.Ensure high standards of clinical governance, audit participation, and quality improvement.About YouMB BS or equivalent medical qualification.Full GMC registration with licence to practise.MRCPsych (or equivalent).Approved Clinician status and Section 12 approval under the Mental Health Act (or eligibility).Excellent clinical skills with a strong bio-psycho-social understanding.Evidence of leadership in multidisciplinary settings.Experience in neuropsychiatry or rehabilitation desirable.Commitment to service development, audit, and collaborative improvement.Whats on OfferCompetitive salary 109,179 125,637 (Pro Rata, DOE)38 days annual leave (including bank holidays, pro rata)Option to buy/sell up to 5 days annual leaveHealth Cash Plan & Employee Assistance Programme (EAP)Company pension and group life assuranceExcellent training, CPD, and clinical supervision supportEye voucher scheme and free on-site parkingLong Service & Staff AwardsApply NowIf youre ready to make a meaningful impact in neurorehabilitation and lead a multidisciplinary service with compassion and clinical excellence, click Apply Now to join our team in York.
