JobDescription: ThePostHolderwillbetheLeadOfficerforthedepartmentandshouldbeexperiencedinthemanagementofalltheaspectsandprocedurestodeterminelegalliabilityanddefendtheAuthoritytominimisethefinancialrisktotheAuthorityforDisrepairclaims,PersonalInjuryclaims,StatutoryNuisancealongwithtenantcompensationclaimsandpossesstheabilitytoanalysedatatomakedecisionsindifficultsituationsexercisinginitiativetoresolveissuesasitisessentialtotheprimarypurposeoftheposttominimisefinancialrisktotheAuthority. ThePostHolderwillundertakedetailedspecialistsurveystodwellings,preparecontractspecificationsandmanagecontractorsundertakingremedialworks,ensuringthatqualitystandardsareachievedandthatfullcompliancewithstatutoryandregulatoryrequirementsismaintainedand ThePostHolderwillthoroughlyinvestigateallHousingDisrepairclaimsandallocatedPersonalInjuryclaimsinvolvingcarryingoutdetailedinterviewswithclaimantstopreparedetailedreportsforInsurersandSolicitors,andbetheInstructingOfficerforthedepartmentinthenegotiationofsettlementsinallHousingDisrepairclaimsandallocatedPersonalInjuryclaims. ThePostHolderwillberesponsibleformonitoringallHousingDepartmentclaims/reportsinrelationtodampissuesincludingreportingonthecurrentsituationandtrendstoSeniorManagement. ThePostHolderwillbethedesignatedExpertWitnessandattendcourtinsupportoftheCouncilscaseandwillensuretheprovisionofalldisclosuredocumentation,witnessstatements,legalfilepreparation,noticeofcompletionofworks,rentaccountsandanyotherrelevantinformation.
