Job Description Management Accountant opportunity - 12 months fixed term contractApril start date50,000 per annum plus excellent benefitsHybrid working?Are you a qualified accountant who thrives on driving financial performance, leading teams, and providing meaningful commercial insight?Were looking for a confident and collaborative Management Accountant to lead our clients' accounts function and play a key role in safeguarding financial health, improving operational efficiency, and supporting strategic decision-making across the business.This is more than a reporting role - its an opportunity to combine strong technical expertise with proactive commercial thinking and people leadership.The RoleAs Management Accountant, you will oversee all core financial processes and manage a small finance team, ensuring accuracy, compliance and efficiency across the function.Youll take ownership of monthly reporting, budgeting, forecasting, cashflow management and statutory compliance, while providing clear, insightful commentary to senior leadership. Your ability to turn financial data into meaningful business insight will directly influence decision-making and performance.Key ResponsibilitiesLead, manage and develop a small finance team, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvementOversee purchase, sales and nominal ledgers, ensuring accurate processing in line with company policiesManage the month-end process including journals, reconciliations, accruals and prepaymentsProduce monthly management accounts and annual statutory accounts with clear financial insightPrepare and monitor budgets and forecasts to support business planningManage cashflow forecasting to ensure operational liquidityOversee payroll and pension administration, ensuring full HMRC complianceMaintain and reconcile fixed asset registers, P&L and balance sheet reportsManage online banking activities, including payment preparation and approvalsLiaise with external accountants, auditors and financial partnersProvide weekly management statistics and financial commentaryDeliver financial analysis and support ad-hoc strategic projectsPrepare and submit VAT, corporation tax and other statutory returnsFile annual accounts and statements with Companies HouseOversee insurance renewals and utility contracts to ensure cost controlMaintain strong financial controls and ensure compliance with all regulatory requirementsWhat Were Looking ForQualified Accountant (ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)Minimum 3 years experience as a Management AccountantStrong technical accounting knowledge and analytical capabilityHighly organised with excellent attention to detailConfident managing multiple priorities and tight deadlineCommercially aware with a proactive, problem-solving mindsetApproachable leadership style with experience managing or mentoring a teamStrong communication skills, able to collaborate across departmentsComfortable working with financial systems and data (Pegasus experience advantageous but not essential)Roberts Webb Recruitment are acting as a Recruitment Agency in relation to this role.JBRP1_UKTJ
