ToprovideanindependentandobjectiveassuranceandconsultingservicetotheCouncilonthecontrolenvironmentbyevaluatingitseffectivenessinachievingtheorganisationsobjectives.Toobjectivelyexamine,evaluateandreportontheadequacyofthecontrolenvironmentasacontributiontotheproper,economic,efficientandeffectiveuseofresources.ToassisttheCouncil:maintainingeffectivecontrolsbyevaluatingtheireffectivenessandefficiencyandbypromotingcontinuousimprovement.ToprovidelevelsofassurancetoChiefOfficersandSeniorManagersbyauditing,advisingandreportingonaportfolioofhighandmediumriskdepartmentalandkeysystemaudits.ThisinturnenablestheHeadofService-Audit&TechnicaltoprovideassurancetotheCouncilsGovernanceandAuditCommitteeandSeniorLeadershipTeamontheadequacyoftheCouncilscontrolenvironment.Tofulfiltheabovebyreviewingandevaluating:theeffectiveness,adequacyandapplicationofinternalcontrols;theextenttowhichtheCouncilsassetsandinterestsareaccountedforandsafeguardedfromlossesofallkinds;andthesuitabilityandreliabilityoffinancialandothermanagementinformationusedwithintheauthority.Touseexperience,initiativeandprofessionaljudgementwhenundertakingallinternalauditwork,includinginvestigationsasnecessary.Tosuperviseandmentorinternalauditors.TocomplywiththePublicSectorInternalAuditStandards(PSIAS)hepostholdermustbequalifiedandholdboththe:AssociationofAccountingTechnicians(AAT)qualificationorequivalent.PractitionerintheInstituteofInternalAuditors(PIIA)/CertifiedInternalAuditor(CIA)qualificationorequivalent.ThepostholdershouldhaveexperienceinaLocalGovernmentinternalauditenvironment.Thepostholderwillhaveresponsibilityfor:Directlysupervising,mentoringandtraininginternalauditors,bothinanofficeenvironmentandremotelyduetoagileworking.Co-ordinatingandprioritisingtheworkoftheinternalauditorsinordertoachievetheinternalauditplan.DeputisingintheabsenceofAuditLeadsAllincome,expenditure,staffing,policies,procedures,propertyandotherresourcesoftheCouncilaresubjecttoexaminationbyInternalAudit.SeniorAuditorSeniorAuditorSeniorAuditorSeniorAuditorSeniorAuditorSeniorAuditorTPBN1_UKTJ
