Compliance Lead Location: Worksop Salary: Grade 7 36,363 - 39,152 per annum Vacancy Type: Permanent, Full Time, 37 hours per week Closing Date: 23rd November 2025 Are you passionate about driving excellence in compliance, health and safety, and environmental performance? Our client is looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Compliance Lead to join thier Waste Management Services team. The Role As the Compliance Lead, youll play a key part in ensuring that all waste operations and fleet activities meet legal, environmental, and safety standards. Youll conduct audits, support investigations, and help shape a strong compliance culture across the service. Working closely with Team Leaders and the Waste Management Services Manager, youll provide expert guidance on risk management, health and safety, and regulatory compliance. Youll also deliver training, lead on enforcement action, and support community engagement to promote responsible waste management practices. This role offers a fantastic opportunity to influence service improvements, work collaboratively with internal and external partners (including the Environment Agency and Police), and contribute to sustainable service delivery. Skills and Qualifications Theyre seeking someone with: A NEBOSH Certificate (or equivalent) and a commitment to continuous professional development. Proven experience in compliance, auditing, or regulatory roles within waste management or a similar operational setting. Strong knowledge of waste and environmental legislation, health and safety requirements, and the Goods Vehicle Act 1995. Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to lead audits and investigations independently. Confidence in preparing reports, delivering training, and engaging with residents and stakeholders. Desirable skills and experience Enforcement training or legal knowledge relevant to environmental offences. Experience working within local government or public sector environments. A background in community engagement or behaviour change campaigns. Experience leading service improvements or transformational change.
