Join to apply for thePilot/Tug Coxswain - CMB2015erole atCumberland Council About This Opportunity We’re looking for a skilled and motivated individual to join our Marine Team as a Pilot Boat/Tug Coxswain at the Port of Workington. This role is varied and hands-on, carrying responsibility for the safe operation of the Port’s pilot boat and tug, ensuring the efficient transfer of pilots, crew, and equipment, and assisting with berthing and unberthing operations. Location:Workington Salary:£28,598 - £29,540 per annum Hours:37 hours per week Contract:Permanent Key ResponsibilitiesTaking command of the pilot vessel for embarkation and disembarkation of pilots and other persons, as required by the Harbour Master. Operating the pilot vessel to support maintenance of navigational aids, surveying, and other marine duties. Assisting with tug operations, towage, mooring and unmooring of vessels, plough dredging, and line handling. Operating dock gates, sluices, and port radio/traffic signals to ensure the safe and efficient movement of shipping. Maintaining accurate records and logbooks, and assisting with routine vessel maintenance and safety drills. This is a shift-based role covering 24/7 port operations, including nights, weekends, and public holidays. The position offers the opportunity to work as part of a small, highly skilled marine team delivering a professional pilotage and towage service to port users. This role is available on a permanent basis.
