Job Description Senior Construction Estimator(Experienced Estimators or strong step-up candidates considered)Location: Pendeford, WolverhamptonSalary: 60,000 75,000 + Car Allowance (DOE)Working Pattern: Hybrid / Flexible (typically 12 days in the office)About SWG ConstructionSWG Construction is an established principal contractor delivering residential, commercial, industrial, and public-sector projects across the Midlands and Wales.We win work through careful pre-construction planning, accurate first-principles pricing, and strong supply chain relationships, rather than simply competing on the lowest price.With a strong pipeline of secured and upcoming projects, we are looking to strengthen our pre-construction team with an experienced estimator who can play a key role in shaping our tenders.The RoleThis is an opportunity for either:an experienced Senior Estimator looking for a stable and flexible environment, ora capable Estimator ready to step up into a more senior role.You will work closely with our directors, commercial team and project delivery teams, taking responsibility for preparing competitive tenders from first principles through to tender submission and handover.Your input will directly influence bid strategy, risk identification and value engineering opportunities.Typical project values range from 500K to 8MKey ResponsibilitiesPrepare accurate and competitive tenders for new build and refurbishment projectsPrice work from first principles, understanding construction methodology and sequencingReview drawings, specifications and employers requirements to identify risks and opportunitiesManage subcontractor and supplier enquiries to ensure full scope coverageEvaluate subcontract returns for commercial and technical complianceParticipate in tender adjudication meetings with senior managementProvide a clear and structured handover to the delivery team when projects are securedWhat Were Looking ForWe value strong construction knowledge and practical estimating ability.ExperienceIdeally, 5+ years estimating experience with a UK principal contractorExperience pricing Design & Build and traditional contractsTechnical SkillsStrong understanding of construction methodology and cost planningConfident pricing from first principlesStrong Excel skills essentialExperience with Causeway estimating software is advantageousAdditional AdvantagesKnowledge of Midlands-based subcontractors and supply chainsStrong communication skills when working with consultants, clients and internal teamsPackage & Benefits60,000 75,000 salary (DOE)Car allowanceHybrid working (typically 12 days office-based)33 days annual leave, including bank holidaysLong-term opportunity within a stable and growing contractorWe are particularly interested in people looking for a long-term role where they can make a meaningful contribution to the success of the business.Direct applicants only no agency submissions please
