Job Title: Credit Control Manager Location: Witham, Essex (with some travel to other Simarco sites, including Stoke-on-Trent) Salary: Market Leading/Competitive Hours: Monday to Friday 9am to 5.30pm Note: This role does not offer sponsorship or relocation assistance, so candidates MUST already reside in the UK and hold the correct Right to Work documentation to be considered. You will play a pivotal role in keeping bad debt to an absolute minimum, while motivating your team to consistently hit targets and improve cash flow. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who thrives in a high-volume, fast-paced environment and is eager to lead a small but dedicated team to success. We value urgency and commitment in ensuring that debt does not grow out of control, and were looking for someone who shares that drive. Has excellent communication skills to build and maintain strong relationships with customers, ensuring satisfaction while effectively managing debt recovery. Previous formal Credit Control Manager experience isnt essential, as were happy to consider Credit Control Team Leaders or professionals with strong leadership experience who are ready to step up in their career. Key Skills & Qualifications: Were looking for someone with a passion for credit control and a strong desire to keep improving results. You'll need excellent leadership skills, and a proactive approach to managing cash flow and debt. Heres what we need from you: 5-7 years of progressive experience in credit control , with at least 3-5 years in a leadership role, where you have successfully driven performance and kept your team motivated and focused. Proven ability to manage high-volume, low-value transactions . Strong communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills. Proficiency in Excel reporting and data analysis . A hands-on leadership style with a focus on motivating and developing your team. High attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to thrive under pressure. Experience in the logistics or transport industry is a bonus. Please note: This role requires occasional travel to Simarco sites (including Stoke-on-Trent) and involves managing a small team across multiple locations. Flexibility and availability are essential. Key Duties & Responsibilities: Develop, implement, and maintain effective credit policies that align with Simarcos risk appetite and business goals. Oversee the timely collection of receivables , ensuring the team delivers strong results across a large customer portfolio. Lead and mentor a small, multi-site team of credit controllers , fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and improvement. Conduct credit assessments , set appropriate credit limits, and work closely with commercial teams to balance risk and opportunity. Take the lead in dispute resolution and handle billing queries in coordination with Finance and Operations. Produce regular reports and analysis on debtors, cash flow, and key metrics (DSO, overdue debt, bad debt, etc.). Drive process improvement and automation initiatives using ERP, CRM, or other credit management tools to streamline workflows and improve efficiency.
