Job DescriptionJob Title: Head of Revenues & BenefitsJob description: Venn Group have been approached by a Local Authority in the South West to recruit an interim Head of Revenues & Benefits.Key Responsibilities:Councils Lead technical expert on all matters relating to Council Tax, Business Rates & BenefitsHelp formulate Council Policy in relation to these Services, working with Councillors (and having delegated powers directly from Councillors) and monitor adherence to policyAppoint, monitor and contract manage contractors who run much of the Council Tax, Business Rates & Benefits ServiceAppoint, monitor and manage other agents and staff who help in the billing, appropriation and collection and maximisation of the Councils income (External collection Agents, Rates finding Agent, Cashiering, banking, Invoicing & Credit Control functions)Ensure all central government returns are completed correctly and on time (Benefits Subsidy returns are necessary to achieve approx. 40 million per annum and Council Tax and Business Rate returns ensure the correct accounting of over 300 million of income per annum)The successful candidate will be required to attend the office 2-3 days a week.Hourly Rate: NegotiableTo discuss this role in more detail please contact Thomas Nicholas ([email protected]) or Jake Simms ([email protected]) on the North Local Government Team.Venn Group is an equal opportunities employment business and employment agency and welcomes applications from all candidates.
