Role SummaryAs a Capital Allowances Director at Unity Advisory, you will lead our capital allowances advisory service, providing strategic tax planning and advisory services to our mid-market clients. This role requires a business generator and strategic thinker with extensive experience in capital allowances and a proven track record of winning work, and leading tech-forward advisory projects.ResponsibilitiesLead and manage the capital allowances advisory function, ensuring compliance with relevant tax laws and regulations. Provide strategic tax advice to clients on capital allowances, including identifying qualifying expenditure and maximising tax relief. Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, tax authorities, and external advisors. Collaborate with senior leaders across legal, finance, and operations to provide integrated tax solutions. Mentor and develop a high-performing team of tax professionals, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement. Stay up-to-date with changes in tax legislation and ensure the company's capital allowances strategies are aligned with these changes. Drive business development and expand key client accounts, making an impact in the market and supporting the pursuit of new opportunities. Utilise AI-powered tools and technologies to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of capital allowances advisory services.QualificationsA professional certification (e.g., ACA, CTA) is preferred. Minimum of 10 years of experience in capital allowances advisory. Proven track record of winning work and leading capital allowances projects in a professional services firm or corporate environment. Strong knowledge of capital allowances legislation and industry best practices. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. Strong leadership and team management abilities. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain client relationships.
