Job Description Design Engineer Mould Tool DesignWhitstable, Kent | On-Site | Competitive Salary | MonThu 08:0016:30, Fri 08:0013:30Take ownership of mould tooling design and production improvements, resolving manufacturing issues and optimising processes for consistent quality. Apply your expertise in CAD and injection moulding to influence new and existing components.This role sits within a well-established engineering group known for providing high-technology interconnect, sensor and antenna solutions across various sectors, such as defence, aerospace and automotive. You will advise the team on NPI projects supporting DFM/DFMEA for moulded part/tooling design and provide support with any issues when required.Your roleInvestigate production issues and implement tooling updates to maintain high-quality outputs Support new product introduction through design for manufacture and risk assessmentDevelop, verify, and maintain 3D models, technical drawings, and specifications for components and mould toolsCollaborate with colleagues and cross-functional teams to improve processes and material selectionYour experienceMinimum BEng in Mechanical Engineering or a related disciplinePrevious mould tooling experience in a manufacturing environment is essentialExperience with 3D CAD (CREO or similar) and simulation tools such as Moldex 3Knowledge of injection moulding processes and design for volume productionUnderstanding of GD&T and creating detailed manufacturing drawings Familiarity with DFMEA, DFM/A and NPI processesRight to work in the UK, no sponsorship providedElectus Recruitment Solutions provides specialist engineering and technical recruitment solutions to high-technology industries.
