In this role, the 2nd Chef will support the Head Chef in preparing nutritious, well-balanced meals that meet residents' dietary needs and preferences.What We OfferFull training packageEmployee Assistance ProgrammeEmployee discount card for our leisure sitesKey ResponsibilitiesAssist the Head Chef in creating and maintaining cooking and cleaning regimes (daily, weekly, periodic) for all areas of the kitchen in line with the companys quality philosophy.Ensure that any special dietary meals are prepared correctly.Maintain food stock controls in the absence of the Head Chef.Manage and update an inventory of kitchen equipment in the absence of the Head Chef.Ensure food handling, cleanliness, health and safety, and all procedures within the meal preparation areas operate to the highest possible standards.Supervise and instruct junior and new staff members in all aspects of their work in the care home, providing guidance where appropriate.Understand and implement the care homes Health and Safety policy, as well as Emergency and Fire procedures.Promote safe working practice in the care home.Required Skills & ExperiencePromote safe working practices in the care home and uphold its good reputation.Adhere to all company policies and procedures.TPBN1_UKTJ
