Duty Manager Leisure & Fitness Facility Location: South Bristol Contract Type: Full-Time, Permanent Salary: Competitive + Benefits Are you an enthusiastic and proactive leader looking to take the next step in your leisure management career? We are working with a well-established and community-focused leisure provider to recruit an experienced Duty Manager for a large, modern fitness and recreation facility in South Bristol . About the Facility This flagship centre offers a wide range of high-quality amenities, including a 155-station fully equipped gym, a diverse programme of group exercise classes, a swimming pool and spa, and a multi-use sports hall. The site plays a key role in promoting health, wellbeing, and active lifestyles for people of all ages and backgrounds. About the Role As Duty Manager , you will be a vital part of the day-to-day operation of the centreleading shifts, supporting frontline staff, ensuring excellent customer service, and maintaining a safe, high-quality environment for all users. Key Responsibilities: Manage daily operations and act as shift leader Ensure high standards of health and safety and customer care Lead and support staff across various departments, including poolside Contribute to programme development, marketing, and customer engagement Oversee security procedures, key holding, and emergency call-outs Support recruitment, training, and development of team members Monitor performance targets, participation levels, and cost-effectiveness Handle cash, reporting, and general administrative duties The Ideal Candidate You will be a confident communicator with a customer-first approach, comfortable managing people and facilities in a fast-paced, public-facing environment.
