Nursing Home Chef

Job Summary:We are looking for a reliable and experienced Chef to join our team in a well-established nursing home. The role involves preparing nutritious, home-cooked meals tailored to the dietary and health needs of elderly residents, including those with special requirements such as soft diets or allergens. You will be key in promoting the health and wellbeing of residents through safe, high-quality food preparation.Key Responsibilities:Plan, prepare, and serve balanced and nutritious meals for residents, including special diets (e.g., diabetic, vegetarian, texture-modified)Ensure food is prepared in line with residents care plans and dietary requirementsMaintain high standards of food hygiene and cleanliness in accordance with HACCP and food safety regulationsOrder and manage stock efficiently to avoid waste and ensure availability of ingredientsMaintain accurate records of food temperatures, cleaning schedules, and stock rotationCollaborate with care staff to ensure mealtime preferences and needs are metSupervise kitchen assistants and support junior kitchen staff where applicableTake part in regular kitchen audits and inspectionsRequirements:Previous experience as a Chef or Cook in a care home, healthcare, or similar environmentFood Hygiene Level 2 or higher (mandatory)Knowledge of dietary requirements for older adults and those with specific health conditionsAbility to work under pressure and manage a kitchen independentlyGood communication and organisational skillsA caring and respectful approach to elderly residentsJBRP1_UKTJ
