Project Engineer

Job Description Due to ongoing expansion, we are seeking a highly experienced and motivated Project Engineer to lead the delivery of capital projects (5m-20m) across our operational sites. The projects are located in North West Britain and in Scotland. This is an on-site role, with travel between sites expected. It is a full-time, permanent position paying up to 60,000 plus excellent benefits. About the role:The primary focus will be on end-to-end management of CAPEX projects, including design coordination, tendering, contractor procurement, onsite supervision and inspection of works, and successful handover. The role also includes secondary responsibility for hazardous and non-hazardous landfill cell engineering and capping projects, ensuring compliance with environmental and safety standards.What you'll be doing: Lead end-to-end delivery of major CAPEX projectsCoordinate design, tendering and contractor procurementManage CDM compliance, environmental permits and internal governanceOversee onsite works, contractor performance and interface managementControl budgets, forecasting and VOWD reportingDrive stage-gate reviews and present progress updates to senior stakeholdersManage pre-construction documentation, RAMS, CPP and change controlOversee commissioning, training and structured handoverYou will support landfill cell planning, construction and capping activities, ensuring full regulatory compliance and engineering integrity.What we are looking for:Proven experience delivering complex capital projects (multi-million value)Strong contractor management and commercial negotiation skillsWorking knowledge of CDM Regulations and environmental permittingExperience in industrial, waste, infrastructure, utilities or heavy engineering environmentsConfident stakeholder communicator with structured reporting capabilityDegree-qualified in Engineering (or equivalent experience)Closing Date: Wednesday 18th March, 2026Were committed to building a diverse and inclusive workplace where everyone can thrive.
