Job Description Multiskilled Shift Engineer (Mechanical Bias) Location: Weston-super-Mare, SomersetSalary: 50,000 55,000 per annumShift Pattern: 4-shift rotation (full-time equivalent hours)Sector: FMCG / Manufacturing / PackagingType: Permanent The Opportunity We are recruiting on behalf of a global leader in sustainable paper and packaging for a Multiskilled Shift Engineer (Mechanical Bias) to join their high-performing engineering team at their Weston-super-Mare manufacturing site. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced FMCG Engineer to join a forward-thinking organisation that places strong emphasis on safety, quality, sustainability, reliability engineering and continuous improvement. The successful candidate will play a key role in increasing machine uptime, improving asset reliability, and supporting site operations through proactive and reactive engineering support. Key ResponsibilitiesProvide a proactive engineering service to the Site Operations TeamLead and support breakdown response and fault resolutionIncrease machine uptime and reliability during shiftSupport and develop preventative and predictive maintenance strategiesAssist with planned maintenance (PPM) schedulesWork collaboratively across Engineering, Conversion, Corrugator and Despatch departmentsOrder and manage engineering spares and partsLiaise with OEMs and external engineering suppliers when requiredUse and support SAP PM systems for maintenance planning and reportingDeliver mechanical and electrical engineering support to machine operativesActively contribute to continuous improvement initiativesMaintain high standards in health 'safety, quality and complianceSkills, Knowledge & Experience Required Essential:Minimum 5 years experience in an FMCG / manufacturing / industrial environmentMechanical bias with strong multiskilled capabilityStrong breakdown, fault-finding and diagnostic skillsExperience with hydraulic, pneumatic and steam systemsFault finding on AC & DC drives (Siemens, ABB, SSD, etc.)Knowledge of PLC systems including Siemens S5, S7 and Allen BradleyExperience using CMMS systems (SAP PM preferred)Ability to work on a 4-shift rotationStrong communication skillsTeam player with cross-department collaboration experienceSelf-motivated, driven and reliableWhats on OfferCompetitive salary of 50,000 55,000Permanent, stable role within a global manufacturing organisationModern production environmentStrong safety cultureCareer development opportunitiesSupportive engineering teamLong-term progression and skills developmentSecure, high-demand sectorJBRP1_UKTJ
