Junior Family Solicitor / Fee Earner Location: Chichester, West Sussex Contract Type: Full-Time, Permanent Salary: Competitive, dependent on experienceThe Opportunity A respected and long-established law firm in Chichester is seeking a Junior Family Solicitor (1-2 years PQE) to join its supportive Family Department. The team handles a full range of privately funded family work, including divorce, separation, financial remedy proceedings, private children law, cohabitation disputes, and matters involving domestic abuse.The Role The successful candidate will work closely with senior colleagues and the Head of Department, gaining exposure to a wide variety of cases while developing their own caseload.Key Responsibilities:Assisting senior solicitors on complex and high-value casesManaging an appropriate caseload with supervisionDrafting applications, statements, and other legal documentsAttending client meetings, hearings, and mediationsDelivering timely and accurate legal adviceEnsuring compliance with professional and regulatory obligationsWorking in line with the Resolution Code of PracticeThe CandidateQualified Solicitor (1-2 years PQE) with a genuine passion for family lawStrong technical, drafting, and analytical skillsExcellent communication skills and empathy with clientsAbility to manage competing priorities with professionalism and discretionConfident IT user (Excel, HMCTS Portal, Practical Law)Advocacy experience is desirable but not essentialWhat's on OfferCompetitive salary, commensurate with experienceOngoing training and professional developmentClear career progression opportunitiesA collaborative, supportive, and forward-thinking environmentThis is an excellent opportunity for a Junior Family Solicitor to develop their career within a well-regarded Chichester-based team.
