Job Description Role Purpose:Reporting to the Machine-shop Supervisor and working closely with the Production Planning department and Purchasing Department the machine shop technician will be responsible for creating programs for CNC Machines using 3D CAD Models or data taken from technical drawings.Setting up and running CNC Machines and ensuring the machines are working at full capacity, producing high quality components to lead times.Key Responsibilities:Planning out the most efficient order for machining operations on each job.Checking that work meets quality and technical standards.Maintain equipment by completing preventative maintenance requirements.Ensure all CNC Programs are fully backed up for future repeat orders.Effective communication with Engineering team to ensure all design changes during manufacture are captured.Adhere to the company's procedures, policies and goalsEnsure at all times that health and safety regulations and guidelines are followedEnsure that all procedures are followed as specified in the Quality ManualEnsure that all documentation related to your work is kept accurate and up to date in accordance with BS EN9001Assist in maintaining the office and workshop in a clean and orderly state and ensure good project house keepingWork in a conscientious and safe manner at all times, with due consideration of other personnelAnswer all telephones and e-mails as and when necessary in a polite and courteous manner?Skills & ExperienceEssentialQualified to a recognised standard with a minimum of 3 years practical experience on CNC millsExperience working to high tolerances in a pressured environmentWorking from 2D cad drawings ideally with 3D CadCam experience (Training can be given)Confidence in measuring your own and others workTo have a flexible and conscientious approachTo work as a team and understand company valuesAble to work without supervision.Desirable:Experience using manual lathe and millsAn understanding of CadCam programmingWorking with Heidenhain and Mazatrol controls (Training can be given)?Personal AttributesDemonstrates our company values of Teamwork, Integrity, Excellence and CourageHighly organised and methodical approach, with an eye for detailThe ability to work independently when requiredA flexible, conscientious, and diligent attitudeExcellent communication, interpersonal and written skillsA resilient and adaptable approach?Work life balance:37.5 hour working weekLunchtime finishes on a Friday28 days annual leaveChristmas closureHoliday purchasing scheme?Benefits:Group pension plan matched contributions up to 5%Income protection schemeEmployee Assistance Programme gives you and your family access to 4 key services including remote GP service, second opinion, mental health pathway service and physiotherapy consultationsLife assurance policy, including bereavement counselling and probate helplineCompany shares incentive plan and save as you earn schemeElectric vehicle salary sacrifice schemeWellbeing initiatives, including access to wellbeing app and the additionof mental health support for all employees.
