Head of Learning and Development

I am currently hiring a Head of Learning & Development for one of my clients for a period of 12 months on a fixed term contract.Based West Midlands or Northamptonshire with travel to both.My client has set out a mission to create a Learning Academy that will shape the future of their workforce. They are looking for an individual who can design, launch, and embed a learning culture that supports long-term business growth.The requirement: To build a 5-year workforce plan aligned with the business strategyPrioritise and develop learning pathways for key skills (e.g., Engineering, Sales, Site Management)Define roles, skills, and experiences — and match them with the right learning methodsPartner with external providers to deliver high-impact trainingCreate a certification framework and map career pathsDesign a branded learning experience accessible to all employeesWhat my client is looking for: Proven success in launching a Learning Academy in a technical/industrial settingExperience engaging offline/frontline teams in learningStrong project management and stakeholder engagement skillsExcellent stakeholder management skills with high EQ and the ability to influence across diverse teams, able to flex your communication styleA creative and pragmatic approach.This is a superb opportunity to make a lasting impact by building from the ground up. You will work with the wider HR team and Business including senior stakeholders and the HR Director.This is a 12-month fixed term contract but comes with the possibility of a longer term/permanent opportunity.Salary: up to £85,000 per annumMainly onsite with some flex to work from home.
