Prototype Build Technician

Job DescriptionKey Responsibilities:Strip and build of prototype transmissions, following prototype build manuals with support from the engineering teamIdentify and implement improvements in build processes and learning for future phasesFault finding of transmission build and manufacturing issuesStrip and inspect unfamiliar transmissions without instructionHave a fundamental understanding of different transmission types, functions, and componentsCarry out instrumentation and modifications of test units as per engineering requestsRaise issues found during build and participate in subsequent 8D reportsUnderstand and adhere to storage/part picking processes with assistance from engineering teamsMaintain good housekeeping of facilities and workshopsKey Competencies and Experience:Extensive experience with a large range of complex assemblies in a prototype build environmentAbility to interpret engineering drawings and validate manufactured parts qualityFamiliarity with accurate measurement techniques, supporting bespoke build characteristics (Manual or CMM)Experience in fabrication/modification on bespoke hardwareMachining experience including lathe, mill, pillar drill, welding, etc.Good mechanical understanding of prototype build processes and ability to identify design and manufacturing faultsSkills and Behaviours:Excellent troubleshooting skills with a logical mindsetSelf-motivated and resilientAbility to work flexibly to achieve deadlinesCapacity to tackle unfamiliar tasks with limited guidance or supervisionNB: All applications must be accompanied by a covering letter detailing how your skills and experience match this role.Working Here:You will be warmly welcomed into our workplace where every voice matters.
