Job Description Operational Recovery Lead Outpatient Pharmacy6-Month Interim Contract West Midlands (On-Site, 5 Days per Week, Free Parking) 8:30am 6:00pm (1-hour lunch) Immediate StartAre you an experienced operational leader who thrives in turnaround environments?We are seeking a confident and hands-on Operational Recovery Lead/Transformation Manager to drive a structured service recovery programme within an outpatient pharmacy department at a hospital in the West Midlands.This is a high-priority interim appointment with senior leadership visibility. The service is experiencing operational pressures and cultural challenges. We need a strong leader who can stabilise operations, galvanise the team, and deliver measurable improvements at pace.This role does NOT need necessarily to be filled by a pharmacist however, a strong understanding of hospital pharmacy operations is essential.The RoleThis is a fully hands-on leadership position working alongside the pharmacy team daily. You will:Lead and deliver a structured operational recovery planStabilise day-to-day outpatient pharmacy performanceImprove workflow, stock management, and operational processesLine manage staff and address performance issuesLead cultural and behavioural change within the teamEmbed clear expectations, accountability, and team cohesionProvide regular updates to senior leadershipWhat Were Looking ForThe ideal candidate will have:Strong operational experience within NHS hospital pharmacy or clinical servicesExperience in service recovery, turnaround, or transformationProven ability to improve workflow and team performanceExperience managing staff and handling performance issuesConfidence addressing cultural or behavioural challengesStrong communication and influencing skillsUnderstanding of HR processes and workforce managementExperience in dispensary optimisation, stock control, or operational improvementsSkills & BehavioursWe are looking for someone who is:Calm, confident and credible with staff at all levelsPractical, solutions-focused and hands-onComfortable having difficult conversationsAble to bring stability and motivation to a pressured environmentVisible, approachable and able to work independentlyContract Details6-month interim contract (with potential extension)On-site, 5 days per weekFree parking available35 - 45 per hour via Umbrella, DOEImmediate start
