Job Description We are working exclusively with London Borough of Brent to recruit for their busy payroll departmentDuties include;Manage end-to-end monthly payroll and pensions on a high-volume basisEnsure accurate calculation of wages, deductions, bonuses, and benefitsReview and approve payroll reports before final submissionEnsure compliance with local, national, and international payroll laws and regulationsPrepare and submit statutory filings (e.g., HMRC in the UK)Maintain accurate records for audits and internal reviewsMaintain and update payroll systems and employee recordsCollaborate with HR and Finance to ensure data integrityImplement system upgrades or transitions when neededRespond to payroll-related queries from employeesProvide guidance on payslips, tax codes, and deductionsSupport onboarding and offboarding processes from a payroll perspectiveIdentify and implement improvements to payroll processesDevelop and document standard operating proceduresTrain junior payroll staff or HR team membersSupport budgeting and forecasting activities related to payrollLead or contribute to cross-functional projects (e.g., mergers, acquisitions, system integrations)Dealing with complex queries effectivelyAssessing historical data and rectifying errorsYou will have;Payroll software proficiency and worked with an integrated system previouslyData accuracy and reconciliation experienceAdvanced Excel skills - lookups and pivot tablesDeep understanding of UK payroll legislation, including, PAYE, National InsuranceStatutory payments (SSP, SMP, etc.) and ability to complete manual calculationsAbility to stay updated on HMRC regulations and employment lawCIPP QualifiedPension exposureIf you have ALL of the above and are seeking a new challenge, then please apply now Please note, applications will be reviewed upon receipt, so please apply now as the closing date will be subject to change No sponsorship available for this post
