Due to continued growth, they are now looking to appoint an experienced, practice-based accountant to strengthen their team.Role Overview: This is a hands-on position for an Experienced Accountant to manage a portfolio of clients, focusing primarily on bookkeeping , VAT compliance , and financial reporting . The majority of clients are in the agricultural sector and include farming businesses and rural professionals .Key Responsibilities: Manage bookkeeping and VAT submissions for a range of clients, particularly in the farming and rural sectorsPrepare management accounts and year-end financial statements for sole traders, partnerships, and limited companiesAdvise on sector-specific VAT matters, including the flat rate scheme, partial exemption, and land-related transactionsLiaise with HMRC on client matters and ensure all VAT compliance deadlines are metBuild and maintain trusted relationships with clients through regular contact and proactive supportAssist clients with cloud accounting software such as Xero, Sage, or QuickBooksSupport junior colleagues and review work where appropriateKeep up to date with accounting standards and agricultural tax developmentsIdeal Candidate Profile: ACA / ACCA / AAT qualified , or qualified by experience in a UK accountancy practiceStrong background in VAT and bookkeeping , particularly for agriculture and professional clientsGood knowledge of rural and agricultural tax issues (subsidies, diversified income, capital allowances, etc.) is desirableComfortable working with cloud accounting software and supporting clients with digital toolsExcellent communication skills, with the ability to work independently and manage deadlinesA personal or professional background in agriculture would be an advantageWhats on Offer: A stable and growing practice with a strong reputation in the agricultural sectorA varied and interesting client portfolioSupportive team environment with opportunities for continued developmentCompetitive salary and benefitsTPBN1_UKTJ
