This Buying Manager role is a new position and is ideal for an individual who wants to progress their career in an environment with progression opportunities. Excellent Flexible working - 2 days a week in the office and the rest from home The role: As Buying Manager you will develop and lead a small team to manage the sourcing strategy for a key range of food own brand products working with existing suppliers and sourcing new suppliers. The Buying Manager will lead, develop and support a small team of buyers to negotiate cost price increases and to develop and implement a plan to reduce cost of good to ensure margin targets are achieved. In the role the Buying Manager will work collaboratively with suppliers on range and NPD opportunities ensuring that sustainable sources of supply are always achieved. Using data and insights and working with internal and external stakeholders you will develop the strategic plan that will deliver long term growth. The Buying Manager will have a strong understanding of cost drivers and the context of commodity influences and market dynamics Ideal candidate: This Buying Manager role is ideal for a commercial individual who has food buying experience gained from UK food retail or wholesale. You will have had direct line management experience for minimum 2 direct reports It is essential to be able to demonstrate hands on buying or commercial experience gained from the UK food industry and have negotiated directly with suppliers demonstrating different tactics and styles. In addition, you will demonstrate a passion for the customer, product and a flair for commerciality Leading a team you must have excellent experience of proactively managingall aspects of performance and development You be an excellent relationship builder and you will be able to communicate and influence with internal and external stakeholders. As Buying Manager you must have good insight and data analysis skills and be able to formulate strategy and action opportunities to drive profit You will have excellent planning and organization skills and will be able to work independently on your own initiative, a self-starter with can-do attitude Benefits & details: You will thrive in a matrix blue chip structure that is down to earth and personable.
