Job Description Back of House SupervisorWe are recruiting on behalf of a prestigious 5-star luxury hotel in Watford for an experienced and reliable Back of House Supervisor to join their operational team.This is a key support role within the hotels food and beverage operation, ensuring the smooth, safe, and efficient running of all back of house areas. The successful candidate will lead by example, maintain exceptional hygiene and organisational standards, and support service teams in delivering a seamless 5-star guest experience.Key ResponsibilitiesBack of House OperationsSupervise daily back of house operations, including stewarding, kitchen porters, and cleaning teamsEnsure all kitchen, storage, and service areas are maintained to the highest standards of cleanliness and organisationOversee waste management, recycling, and stock rotation proceduresEnsure all equipment, crockery, cutlery, and glassware are cleaned, stored, and available for serviceHealth, Safety & ComplianceMaintain full compliance with food safety, health & safety, and hygiene regulations at all timesCarry out regular checks to ensure adherence to hotel policies, HACCP standards, and brand requirementsSupport audits and inspections, ensuring corrective actions are implemented where requiredTeam LeadershipSupervise, train, and motivate back of house team membersSupport onboarding and ongoing training to ensure consistent standardsAssist with staff scheduling, break management, and absence cover where requiredFoster a positive, professional, and collaborative working environmentOperational SupportWork closely with Kitchen, Food & Beverage, and Events teams to support service deliveryEnsure back of house operations run smoothly during busy periods, events, and functionsEscalate maintenance or staffing issues promptly to managementCandidate ProfilePrevious experience in a back of house, stewarding, or kitchen support role within a hotel or high-volume hospitality environmentSupervisory experience preferred but not essential for strong senior candidatesStrong understanding of hygiene, health & safety, and food safety standardsOrganised, hands-on, and able to work effectively under pressureGood communication skills and a team-focused approachFlexible to work shifts, including evenings, weekends, and bank holidaysWhats On OfferCompetitive salary depending on experienceOpportunity to work within a luxury 5-star hotel environmentStructured training and development opportunitiesCareer progression within a reputable hospitality brandEmployee benefits including meals on duty and hotel discountsInterested?If you are an experienced Back of House professional looking to step into a supervisory role within a luxury hotel, we would be delighted to discuss this opportunity.
