Job Description Do you enjoy building channels, not just managing them?Want to take ownership of a 5m+ retail channel with a clear path to double it?Confident leading relationships in a fragmented, independent market?Im working with a well established consumer business looking for a NAM / Channel Manager to help rebuild and scale a key retail channel thats been underinvested in recent years.This isnt a traditional NAM role.Its a hands-on, high impact position where youll:Own and deliver the channel strategyGrow key accounts and rebuild customer relationshipsLead a small field team, setting direction and structureDrive revenue, margin, and performanceUse data and forecasting to improve decision-makingThe channel is currently worth 45m, with a clear opportunity to grow to 10m+. So plenty of headroom to make a real impact.The Company & Role:A leading business within the consumer products space, this organisation has built a strong reputation for quality, heritage, and innovation.With a diverse product portfolio and established presence across multiple channels, the business is now reinvesting in its independent retail network, recognising the significant growth potential within this space.Reporting into the senior commercial leadership team, youll take full ownership of the independent retail channel, combining elements of channel strategy, key account management, and team leadership.Youll work closely with a small team of Regional Sales Managers, providing structure, focus, and strategic direction, while remaining hands-on with key customers and commercial delivery.Key Responsibilities:Owning and delivering the channel strategy for the independent retail segmentDriving revenue, margin, and overall channel performanceDeveloping and growing key customer accounts through strong relationship managementRebuilding trust and engagement across a previously underinvested channelBalancing account development (majority focus) with targeted new business activityLeading joint business planning and commercial negotiations with key customersSupporting and guiding Regional Sales Managers to ensure consistent executionIdentifying growth opportunities across range, pricing, and distributionOwning forecasting, budgeting, and performance tracking across the channelAnalysing performance data to identify risks, opportunities, and improvementsDriving a high standard of customer experience and commercial disciplineWhat Were Looking ForExperience in Channel Management, National Account Management, or a similar commercial roleExposure to appliances, electricals or consumer durables would be highly beneficialBackground working within independent or relationship led retail channelsStrong commercial acumen, with experience managing revenue and driving growthConfident in forecasting, planning, and using data to inform decisionsProven ability to build and maintain long-term customer relationshipsExperience influencing or leading field-based sales teamsStrong communication and negotiation skillsHighly self-motivated and comfortable working in a field-based, autonomous roleA proactive, solutions-focused mindset with the ability to drive change and improvementInterested?
