Job Description We are currently looking forcompassionate and committed tutorsto providein-person support for primary-aged pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN) or SEMH.This role focuses on deliveringMaths and English sessions tailored to each students individual needs, particularly for pupils who may have experienced disruptions to their education and require additional support to rebuild their confidence and re-engage with learning.Our students come from a range of backgrounds, and many benefit from apatient, calm, and consistent approach. This position is ideal for tutors who are adaptable, empathetic, and motivated to support meaningful educational progress.LocationTutoring will take place in school at Wantage.Pay25 30 per hour, depending on experience and the specific requirements of each placement.About the RoleAs a tutor, you will provide structured learning sessions designed to support students who may be facinggaps in learning, reduced confidence, or additional learning needs.Your role will involve:Delivering engagingMaths and English sessions at primary levelHave previous experience supporting children or young people in an educational or related setting (e.g. tutoring, teaching, SEN support, teaching assistant roles, youth work)Adapting lessons to suit each studentsability, pace, and learning styleSupporting pupils to regain confidence and develop positive learning habitsCreating asupportive and encouraging learning environmentWhat Were Looking ForWe welcome applicants who have experience working with children or young people in roles such as:Tutoring or teachingTeaching assistant or classroom support rolesSEN support positionsYouth work or pastoral rolesStrong candidates will demonstrate:Confidence teachingsecondary-level Maths and EnglishExperience supportingstudents with SEN, or a genuine interest in developing this experiencePatience, reliability, and flexibility when adapting lessonsThe ability to build positive relationships with pupils fromdiverse social and educational backgroundsHours & CommitmentMinimum availability: 10 hours per weekTutors looking for a fuller schedule typically work withtwo to three studentsConsistency, reliability, and professionalism are essential to help maintain stable support for our pupilsKey ResponsibilitiesTutors will be expected to:Deliverstructured, engaging, and personalised lessonsin Maths and EnglishSupport pupils who may havegaps in knowledge or reduced confidence in learningAccuratelyrecord attendanceand complete ashort session summaryafter each dayBuild positive, professional relationships with studentsMaintain clear and effective communication with the wider support teamWhy Join Us?This role offers the opportunity to make ameaningful difference in a young persons educational journey.
