Dental Receptionist / Clinical Assistant Important Information

Overview Dental Receptionist / Clinical Assistant - providing patient facing reception / administrative duties within our dental clinic and the reprocessing of reusable dental equipment and decontamination of the dental environment within the dental clinic.ResponsibilitiesAdministrative duties: greeting patients; provide general reception duties; book appointments using the Dentally patient record system; collect and record patient charges; filing and scanning patient records; answer telephone calls from the general public and healthcare professionals; undertake training required to ensure quality of service to agreed standards.Clinical duties: inspect, clean and sterilise reusable instruments for use in a dental clinic using automated equipment to nationally agreed standards; operate a washer disinfector and autoclave; accurately pack and record sterilised instruments; daily maintenance of the cleaning equipment and care environment; obtain and provide data as required; complete stock and date checks of dental materials and dental equipment as required.Requirements and NotesExperience using Dentally or other dental patient software would be an advantage, as would experience in the reprocessing and sterilisation of dental and/or medical instruments, dental decontamination processes and knowledge of HTM01-05. However, full training will be provided.A willingness to be vaccinated against blood borne viruses, if not already vaccinated, is essential to the post.English Language: to comply with Part 7 of the Immigration Act 2016, evidence of ability to fulfil all spoken aspects of the role in English is required if not studied at an English speaking institute.Employment DetailsHours: 16 hours per week with working pattern of Monday 1.30-4.30pm; Tuesday 1.30-5pm; Wednesday 1.30-4.30pm; Thursday 1.30-5pm; Friday 1.30-4.30pm.Location: Wirral Community Health & Care NHS Foundation Trust dental clinics in Wallasey (including Leasowe) and Birkenhead; flexibility to move between sites as required.Salary: Trust pays staff in line with national NHS Terms and Conditions; relevant experience may be considered when salary offers are made; pro-rata for part-time positions.About the Trust Wirral Community Health & Care NHS Foundation Trust provides high quality community health and care services which are responsive to the needs of our local population.
