So, whether its already in place or just around the corner, nows the perfect time to join#teamOFG!About the RoleAs an SEN Teacher at Meadowcroft School, youll play a pivotal role in delivering high-quality education while supporting the personal, social and emotional development of each pupil. Youll create a safe, supportive and engaging learning environment that meets the individual needs of pupils with SEND, helping them achieve their full potential both academically and personally.Working closely with colleagues, families and external professionals, youll contribute to a personalised, inclusive curriculum, champion best practice and support the continued development of the school.Key ResponsibilitiesTeach pupils across key stages, delivering engaging lessons tailored to individual learning needsContribute to planning, curriculum development, assessment cycles and the monitoring of pupil progressPromote high standards of teaching, learning and behaviour, modelling best practice in the classroomSupport and implement literacy, numeracy and targeted intervention programmesMaintain accurate records, including assessment data, pupil progress and funding requirementsContribute to the development and implementation of school policies relating to curriculum, teaching, assessment and pupil careFoster a calm, safe and inclusive environment that promotes emotional wellbeing and personal developmentBuild positive relationships with pupils, families, colleagues and external agenciesSupport school improvement priorities, contributing to the School Development Plan and reporting to SLT as requiredAssist with pupil induction, grouping and pastoral support, promoting independence and positive behaviourAbout YouWere looking for someone who is:Qualified: UK QTS (or equivalent), with a relevant degreeExperienced: Strong understanding of SEN, including ASC, learning difficulties and complex needsCompassionate & Resilient: Able to build trusting relationships with pupils who may have faced significant challengesCollaborative: A confident communicator who thrives in a team environmentCreative & Flexible: Able to adapt and innovate to meet individual needsAbout UsMeadowcroft School is an independent specialist day school across four sites in Wakefield, supporting pupils with complex SEMH needs and additional learning difficulties.
