CNC Machinist

Innovators of machinery for special project application Full time based at Calder Vale Road, Wakefield, West Yorkshire 37 hours a week 8 am to 4:30 pm, Monday to Thursday 8 am to 1 pm, Friday We are looking for a CNC Machinist to join our expanding team.MAIN FUNCTION & SCOPE OF THE JOB:Responsible to the Manufacturing Manager, the purpose of the role is to successfully run CNC/Manual machines within a heavy engineering environment. MAIN DUTIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:Ensure machining operations and processes are effectively carried out by the approved manufacturing route and quality standards. Actively pursue continuous improvements in assembly methods and techniques and make recommendations for implementation when appropriate. Ensure all machinery and equipment is adequately maintained and regularly checked for lubrication. Take care of measuring equipment and report on any defective, or out-of-calibration items. Ensure all lifting and transportation equipment is used appropriately. SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE:QualificationsApprentice trained mechanical engineer(E) Skills and KnowledgeAbility to use manual measuring equipment(E) Good understanding of engineering drawings and geometrical tolerances(E) Knowledge of CNC programming(E) ExperienceExperience working with a horizontal machining centre and Fanuc control(E) Experience of working with Heidenhain controls(D) Experience of working within the heavy engineering industry(D) CharacterSelf-motivated/enthusiastic with the ability to solve problems as they arise.
