Job Description Based in Wakefield, 32,000 - 42,000 per annumWe are currently working with a well-established infrastructure contractor who is looking to appoint a Civil Design Engineer to join their growing design team based in Wakefield.This is an excellent opportunity to join a business delivering major water and wastewater infrastructure projects across the UK, working closely with some of the countrys leading utility providers.The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering civil design solutions from concept through to detailed design and construction, supporting a variety of water and wastewater projects.This position offers the opportunity to work within a collaborative multidisciplinary team while developing your technical expertise within the UK water sector.The RoleAs a Civil Design Engineer, you will be responsible for supporting the delivery of design solutions across water and wastewater infrastructure projects. You will work closely with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure designs meet project, regulatory, and client requirements.Key responsibilities include:Preparing civil design solutions at various project stagesProducing design documentation including reports, specifications and calculationsReviewing survey data and developing engineering solutionsAttending client meetings and technical discussions when requiredSupporting site surveys and interpreting survey informationAssisting with technical queries throughout the project lifecycleEnsuring designs are delivered in line with project programmes and quality standardsSupporting and mentoring junior members of the design teamRequirementsTo be considered for this role you should have:Education / QualificationsDegree qualified in Civil Engineering or related disciplineChartered Engineer status or working towards Chartership (ICE or similar)Skills / ExperienceCivil design experience within the UK water or utilities sectorExperience delivering water or wastewater infrastructure projectsUnderstanding of industry standards including CIWEM, CESWI and water industry specificationsKnowledge of ISO quality and environmental standardsExperience with design software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Revit or InfoDrainageUnderstanding of hydraulic design principlesKnowledge of CDM RegulationsDesirable ExperienceHydraulic modelling or profiling experienceExperience designing structural elements such as slabs or hardstandingsKnowledge of WIMES standardsBIM modelling and information management workflowsPackageThe successful candidate will receive a competitive salary depending on experience, along with a strong benefits package including:Car allowancePension scheme with employer contributionsHybrid / flexible workingHealth cash planHoliday purchase schemeCycle to work schemeEmployee wellbeing programmeOngoing training and career development opportunitiesThis is a fantastic opportunity to join a growing infrastructure contractor working on major water projects across the UK.
