Job Description HSE Advisor 30,000 - 45,000 plus package Permanent East LothianA specialist engineering solutions business experiencing continued growth is seeking to appoint an HSE Advisor to strengthen its team. The role is focused on reducing risk, ensuring regulatory compliance, and promoting a positive, proactive health 'safety cultureThis position represents an excellent opportunity for an ambitious HSE professional looking to progress, or for an experienced advisor seeking a business where they can make a meaningful impact and continue to grow their career.Key Responsibilities for the HSE AdvisorPromote a positive HSE culture through site engagement, toolbox talks, wellbeing initiatives, and clear communication, including leading H&S committee meetings.Deliver and support HSE training, inductions, health surveillance, and internal competency assessments, ensuring consistent development across the workforce.Lead risk management activities including risk assessments, COSHH support, PPE guidance, and compliance with all relevant H&S legislation.Conduct audits, incident investigations, and root cause analysis while maintaining accurate data, reporting on trends, and updating HSE information systems.Support the development and maintenance of HSE documentation, procedures, and customer prequalification requirements.Provide onsite and contractor support through RAMS development, HSE inductions, supplier approval processes, and occasional site visits.Carry out occupational health surveillance activities such as DSE, noise, and vibration assessments, working closely with the HSE Manager and other functional leads.Ideal Candidate Profile for the HSE Advisor:NEBOSH National General CertificateBackground in HSE with a minimum of 2-5 years experience in a similar industryAnalytical and problem-solving abilityExcellent interpersonal skillsSelf-driven and team playerWillingness and the thirst to continue to learnKnowledge of ISO 14001, and ISO 45001 management systems.
