Job Title: Senior Commercial ManagerA Senior Commercial Manager is required to support our major projects team in the redevelopment of 10 dock at Devonport Dockyard.About the Role:We are looking for an experienced and skilled commercial professional to join our team. The successful candidate will have a proven track record of managing commercial resources, providing commercial expertise, and assessing and mitigating commercial and contractual risks.The role will involve managing financial resources to maximise planned gross margin through the placement and control of contracts and subcontracts, providing commercial expertise to contracts, including the production and submission of valuations, claims, budget monitoring and contract/workstream performance data, and supporting the authorisation and submission of project variations.The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of commercial management principles, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.Key Responsibilities:Manage commercial resources (finance) of assigned project (or section) to maximise planned gross margin through the placement and control of contracts and subcontracts.Provide commercial expertise to contracts, including the production and submission of valuations, claims, budget monitoring and contract/workstream performance data.Assess, review and mitigate commercial and contractual risks and implement policies for risk management.Support the authorisation and submission of project variations.Requirements:To be considered for this role, you must have:A degree in a relevant field such as quantity surveying or construction management.Proven experience in commercial management, preferably in a construction industry context.Strong knowledge of commercial management principles and practices.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.Benefits:We offer a competitive salary and benefits package, including:Pension scheme.Life assurance.Family friendly policies.Discounts on go-to brands.Free health and wellbeing services.Training and development schemes.Electric vehicle leasing.Paid volunteering leave.Working with Us:We are committed to creating a diverse and inclusive workplace that reflects the communities we serve.
