Technical Business Development Manager

Job Description Excellent opportunity for a Technical Business Development Manager to join a leading specialist in advanced motion control solutions supporting a number of key market sectors. Their product portfolio includes motors, drives, actuators, gearboxes, integrated systems and associated instrumentation.This is a hybrid technical sales and business development role focused on new business generation, strategic account growth and delivering engineered solutions into OEM and test markets across the UK.Key responsibilities for the Technical Business Development Manager role covering the UK:Identify, prospect and win new business opportunities across OEM and test marketsDevelop and grow pipeline activity to meet and exceed sales and margin targetsDeliver technical sales solutions across motors, drives, actuators, gearboxes and motion systemsWork closely with Applications Engineers to deliver strategic and technically complex projectsSupport customers in product design and development with a strong technical biasManage and expand existing accounts through structured account managementIdentify and promote cross-selling opportunities across the wider groupMaintain accurate CRM records of all sales activities, visits and pipeline progressionLiaise with suppliers and group businesses on new projects and product opportunitiesNegotiate NDAs and contracts where applicableEnsure compliance with company Health & Safety and Quality/ISO standardsKey skills required for the Technical Business Development Manager role covering the UK:Proven experience in technical sales or business developmentStrong background in motors, drives and gearboxes (motion control experience essential)Demonstrated success in new business development and pipeline growthExperience selling into OEM environmentsTechnical qualification in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (HNC/HND or higher preferred)Confident using CRM systems to manage sales activityStrong IT skills including Excel, Word and PowerPointExcellent written and verbal communication skillsAble to work autonomously while contributing to a collaborative sales teamThis is a newly created position for a technical business development manager, aligning a specialist motion control product portfolio with strategic growth plans.
