If youre looking to join a business that values hard work, loyalty and ambition, youll feel right at home here.The RoleAs a Senior Estimator within our Multi-Utilities department, you will play a critical role in the successful execution of multi-utility infrastructure projects including water, gas, electricity and telecoms. Your primary responsibility will be to manage and produce accurate cost estimates for a variety of projects, ensuring that bids are competitive while maintaining profitability and compliance with the projects scope and regulations. You will collaborate closely with project managers, engineers, suppliers and subcontractors to develop detailed estimates, tender submissions and cost plans.ResponsibilitiesEvaluate project scope, risk and pricing strategy across all work types, ensuring compliance with required SLAsProduce accurate, comprehensive and timely estimates, tenders and submission documentsBuild estimates from first principles using RIB CCS Candy iTWO, maintaining accuracy in line with company master librariesManage multiple estimates and tenders simultaneously, delivering to agreed timelinesPrepare draft designs, proposals and full commercial submissions for utility worksCreate and maintain accurate quantities from drawings and plans, ensuring robust project launchesProduce draft design sketches (PDF Xchange Editor) for design-and-build projects where no design existsPrepare commercial documentation for peer review and approval by the Head of Business winning and DirectorsLead estimating handover meetings and prepare clear handover documentation for project delivery teamsPersonal QualitiesAccuracy & attention to detailCommercial mindsetOwnership & accountabilityStrong organisational skillsAnalytical & problem-solving abilityCommunication & influencing skillsCollaboration & teamworkTechnical Skills & ExperienceExtensive experience in a similar Estimator/Senior Estimator role within multi-utilitiesDemonstrable experience producing accurate, first principles estimatesExperience creating and maintaining accurate quantities for tender and project launchExperience managing design-and-build estimatesQualifications & TrainingHNC / HND in Civil Engineering, Construction or Quantity Surveying orDegree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying or related discipline orEquivalent industry qualification or demonstrable experience in a professional estimating roleMembership or working towards membership of a recognised professional body (desirable)Additional InformationDoocey Group value a diverse workforce and welcome applications form all sections of the community, regardless of any protected characteristics.Please note that we operate with a preferred supplier list and will not accept unsolicited CVs from recruitment agencies with whom we do not have an existing agreement.By submitting your application, you consent to Doocey Group retaining your CV, application details, and personal information for the purpose of considering you for current and future employment opportunities.
