Mechanical Design Engineer

Job Description An established engineering business within the specialist mechanical design sector is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to join its growing design team. This role offers the opportunity to work on varied, technically interesting projects and to develop alongside an experienced and supportive engineering function.Reporting to the Design Manager, you will be responsible for producing high-quality, practical mechanical designs and supporting projects from concept through to manufacture and installation.Key Responsibilities:Produce 3D models, general arrangement drawings, and detailed manufacturing drawingsInterpret and analyse client briefs and technical requirementsLiaise with customers, suppliers, fabrication teams, and installation teamsConduct site surveys and assist with marking-out when requiredSupport project delivery through effective communication and coordinationEssential Experience & Skills:Strong experience using Autodesk Inventor Professional (other 3D CAD packages considered)Previous experience working within a mechanical design office environmentCompetent with Microsoft Word and ExcelMinimum 5 years' mechanical design experienceDesirable Skills:Experience with Autodesk RevitExposure to BIM environmentsFinite Element Analysis (FEA) of mechanical componentsPersonal Attributes:Willingness to learn and develop under guidanceAble to work both independently and as part of a teamStrong communication and presentation skillsFlexible, problem-solving mindsetComfortable working at height when requiredWorking Hours:Monday to Friday8:30am - 4:30pmSalary & Benefits:Salary up to 45,000, dependent on experienceCompany pension schemeLife insuranceSick payCasual dressCycle to work schemeFree on-site parkingOngoing training and development opportunities
