Effective Communication Specialist

Job Overview:We are seeking an experienced Speech and Language Therapist to join our team at HMP Thameside, a category B Prison located in Greenwich, South-East London.Key Responsibilities:Provide assessments of service users based upon the appropriate use, interpretation and integration of informationProvide timely and accurate reports that provide a diagnosis, assessment and recommendations and comply with best practice guidelinesCommunicate in a skilled and sensitive manner, information concerning the communication assessment, formulation and treatment plans of service users and to monitor progress during the course of both individual and multi-disciplinary careWork with service users and other members of the MDT to achieve identified goals and to promote social inclusion, independence and well-beingFormulate and implement treatment programmes for the management of service user's communication needs and provide advice to service users with communication difficultiesRequirements:Recognised Speech & Language Therapy Degree Qualification or equivalentExperience of working as a Speech and Language therapist in a large multi-disciplinary team, ideally across multiple sites/ locationsHealth Professions Council – Licence to PracticeEvidence of Continued Professional DevelopmentWhat We Offer:Bespoke induction, including our Introducing Health in Justice training courseCompetency frameworkRegional and national career development opportunitiesOur bespoke Learning Management System to address your learning needsThis is a part-time role, working 18.75 hours per week (2.5 days).Candidates are required to have a legal right to work in the UK and due to the nature of the role, offers of employment will be subject to additional vetting and security checks.
