Job Description Project Manager Automation & EngineeringTelford - Hybrid with 25% UK travel, occasional overseasAre you a technically sharp, commercially aware Project Manager who thrives in complex engineering environments? This role puts you at the centre of highvalue automation projects, leading delivery from contract handover through to commissioning with full ownership, visibility, and impact.What Youll LeadYoull take charge of a portfolio of complex projects, ensuring every requirement is understood, communicated, and delivered. Expect to work closely with engineering teams, customers, and senior leadership while driving performance, quality, and profitability.Key ResponsibilitiesOwn all contractual, commercial, and technical project information from proposal stage onwardTranslate stakeholder requirements into clear actions for engineering and delivery teamsPlan resources, schedule activities, and assign tasks aligned to customer expectationsMaintain strong communication with customers and internal teams throughout the project lifecycleProactively report status, risks, and issues to senior leadershipLead regular stakeholder meetings and ensure requirements stay front and centreTroubleshoot technical issues and escalate when neededManage project costs, stage payments, subcontractor approvals, and supplier buyoutsOversee documentation flow, transmittals, and compliance with contract requirementsExpedite goods and components to secure ontime deliveryOrganise and attend FATs, site meetings, and surveysManage change orders, including negotiation of additional commercial recognitionSupport installation and commissioning phases with a strong focus on scheduling and H&SMentor junior project managers and coordinatorsWhat You BringDegree in Electrical/Electronic EngineeringFormal Project Management qualificationStrong MS Office and MS Project capabilityExcellent written and verbal communicationExperience in proposals, sales engineering, project management, or procurementFamiliarity with the automation industry (essential)Willingness to travel across the UK (~25%) with occasional overseas tripsWho You AreA proactive, organised problemsolverA confident communicator who adapts to different situationsA handson team player who can also work independentlyEnthusiastic, reliable, and committed to delivering excellenceWCL ID: 7654
