Housing Regulation & Improvement ManagerThis is a unique opportunity to lead the development, delivery and implementation of a quality assurance and improvement programme across the Council's Housing Directorate. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that the Council delivers core functions in accordance with regulation and realises its continuous improvement goals.Professional accountability lies in providing assurance that the Council is compliant with all statutory and regulatory housing requirements. This includes developing action plans and remediations where necessary, taking enabling and direct actions to ensure delivery of a high-quality, safe, modern and preventative housing service with a positive impact on the lives of tenants and residents.The role requires full accountability for the management, planning and coordination of housing regulatory compliance and service improvement activities.Leading, motivating and developing a team to provide expert diagnostic, interpretation, advice, support and challenge to the wider housing service to drive up standards across the directorate.We are seeking an expert in housing with significant knowledge and experience of preparing and implementing housing policies, procedures, formal reports and presentations in a local authority setting. The ideal candidate will possess excellent investigative and problem-solving skills, able to spot flaws in an argument but take a collaborative approach to finding solutions.The successful candidate will be able to operate effectively through prioritisation, delegation of tasks and organisation of available resources, with experience of managing or supervising staff.
