Workshop SupervisorTamworthMon–Fri DaysSalary DOE + OvertimeWe are recruiting for a Workshop Supervisor to join a busy vehicle hire and maintenance business in Tamworth. This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified mechanic looking to take their first step into management while still keeping hands-on with the tools.The RoleSplit roughly 50/50 between workshop supervision and on-the-tools work, you will lead a team of mechanics responsible for a mixed LCV and HGV fleet. The role involves both planned maintenance and reactive repairs, ensuring vehicles remain safe, compliant, and road-ready.Key responsibilities:Supervising a team of mechanics on shift, supporting development and performanceCarrying out planned servicing, maintenance, and reactive repairs on LCV and HGV vehiclesAllocating workloads and managing workshop prioritiesEnsuring all work meets safety, compliance, and quality standardsSupporting the Workshop Manager in delivering efficiency, productivity, and uptime targetsAbout YouThis role will suit a skilled mechanic with the ambition to step into leadership and grow into management. You will combine technical expertise with the ability to organise, support, and motivate a team.Key skills and experience:Relevant mechanical qualification (NVQ Level 3 or equivalent)Experience maintaining both LCV and HGV vehiclesClass 1 licence highly desirablePrevious mentoring or supervisory experience beneficial but not essentialHands-on, proactive approach with ambition to progressPlease note that full and permanent right to work in the UK is a non-negotiable requirement for this role.
