OVERVIEWBuilding Services Assistant Manager ElectricalReady for the next step in your electrical career?This role is ideal for an experienced electrician, approved electrician, supervisor or working foreman who wants to move into management and take on more responsibility.Youll work alongside the Building Services Manager to help lead electrical projects from survey and quote through to installation and completion. Its a hands-on step up where your experience on the tools, knowledge of site work, and ability to lead others will be highly valued.What youll be doingBefore applying for this role, please read the following information about this opportunity found below.Supporting the day-to-day running of electrical projectsLeading and guiding engineers and electricians on siteCarrying out site visits and surveysHelping with quotations, materials, job planning and project deliveryBuilding strong relationships with customers, suppliers and subcontractorsMaking sure work is completed safely, on time and to a high standardSupporting the wider team and stepping up when neededWho this role would suitYou might already be supervising jobs, mentoring apprentices, dealing with customers, or taking the lead on site and now youre ready to build a long-term career in management.Wed love to hear from you if you have:A strong electrical background in installation, maintenance or small worksExperience leading jobs or supporting teams on siteGood people and communication skillsA practical, organised approachPride in delivering quality work and good customer serviceKey Responsibilities:Lead the delivery of electrical Building Services projects, including design, installation, testing and commissioningProvide technical guidance and support to engineersEnsure all works comply with current electrical regulations, health and safety standards, and company policiesManage project timelines, resources and budgets effectivelyResearching of materials and equipmentNegotiation with suppliers and subcontractorsConduct site visits and surveys to monitor progress, quality and safety, whilst developing, maintaining and enhancing working relationships with new and existing customersSubmission of enquiries and obtaining quotationsLiaise with clients to provide a thorough and complete service, to include undertaking surveys of both commercial and domestic properties, preparation and production of estimations of work, pricing and subsequent quotation provisionsIdentify and resolve technical issues promptlySupport tendering and estimating processesMaintain accurate documentation and project recordsSupervise and assist engineers and sub-contractors on site to achieve objectivesEnsure only approved sub-contractors are used in line with the company policy and are managed to deliver projects as requiredSupport in the management of out of hours emergencies in the absence of the Building Services ManagerSupport in ensuring Health & Safety compliance and quality control across the Building Services department, including compliance and safety on sites, including RAMs, PPE and onsite practicesSupport the authorisation and signing off of the NICEIC documentation processSupport in ensuring the results of inspection and testing are recorded correctly on the appropriate certificates/reportsSupport in ensuring the business' premises, equipment, documentation and records are available for inspection when required by NICEICSupport in safeguarding all unused NICEIC forms of certification and reporting of any loss, theft or misuseSupport in the delivery of departmental KPI's, to include sales, profit and quotation success and the submission of departmental reports to the Board as requestedSupport in the financial control of the Electrical Small Works department including reviewing and signing off invoicing and job costing as requested by the department manager xjdpvnf All other related duties as determined reasonable by the needs of the businessPerson SpecificationQualification in 1EE Regulations, ideally 18th EditionQualification in City & Guilds 2391 Inspection and TestQualifying Supervisor for NICEIC desirable to start, essential in the medium termIOSH qualification in Health and Safety preferredMinimum of 10 years experience in our industry sector preferredSmall works, maintenance and installation experienceElectrical contract experienceManagement ExperienceCapable planner and organiser, with a proven track record of delivering results based on a quality focus, to the required specification and timelinesClear and confident with written and verbal communicationAbility to carry out detailed surveys of installations and document findingsGood customer service skills, with a definitive focus on customer satisfactionCollaborative team player with good interpersonal and written communicationAbility to work on own initiative and as part of a professional teamIT literate, comfortable with new technology and a digital approachFull UK driver's licenceA sound knowledge of Health and Safety, policies, processes and procedures
