Job Description Assistant Commercial Manager | Swindon | 45,000 + Car Allowance | PFI experience essentialA leading infrastructure and facilities management organisation is looking to appoint an experienced Assistant Commercial Manager to support the delivery of a long-term PFI contract in the Swindon area.This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established business with a strong track record in managing complex public-private partnership projects, offering long-term stability and genuine career progression.The RoleReporting to the Commercial Manager, you will play a key role in the day-to-day commercial management of a high-profile PFI contract. Working closely with operational teams across both Hard and Soft FM services, you will help ensure robust financial control and contractual compliance across the project.Key responsibilities will include:Supporting the Commercial Manager in the commercial administration of the PFI contractAssisting with cost management, forecasting, budgeting, and financial reportingManaging variations, change control processes, and compensation events in line with contractual mechanismsMonitoring KPIs, payment mechanisms, and lifecycle obligationsSupporting subcontractor management, including valuations, applications for payment, and agreement of final accountsEnsuring compliance with contract terms and internal governance proceduresAssisting with audits, benchmarking exercises, and client reporting requirementsThe CandidateThe successful candidate will bring proven experience working within a PFI environment and a strong understanding of Facilities Management across both Hard and Soft services.You will ideally demonstrate:Experience in a commercial or quantity surveying role within Facilities ManagementA solid understanding of payment mechanisms, lifecycle cost management, and change control processesStrong analytical, numerical, and reporting capabilitiesThe ability to build effective working relationships with clients, suppliers, and internal stakeholdersA degree or recognised qualification in Commercial Management, Quantity Surveying, or a related disciplineWorking knowledge of NEC contracts, bespoke PFI agreements, or long-term service contractsThis is a fantastic opportunity for a commercially astute professional seeking to develop their career within a secure, long-term contract environment.For a confidential discussion and to learn more about this opportunity, please get in touch.
