Job Title: Senior Town Planner | Associate Town PlannerLocation: Newcastle upon TynePenguin Recruitment is delighted to be supporting a well-established, multidisciplinary engineering and planning consultancy in the appointment of a Senior Town Planner or Associate Town Planner for their growing Newcastle office.This is an exciting opportunity to join a highly regarded planning team working on a diverse portfolio of high-profile development projects across the UK, with genuine opportunities for career progression and professional development.All candidates should make sure to read the following job description and information carefully before applying.The RoleAs a Senior or Associate Town Planner, you will play a key role in delivering planning advice and securing consents for a wide range of development projects across sectors including residential, commercial, industrial, education, retail, energy, leisure and major infrastructure.You will manage projects, build client relationships, and contribute to the growth of the planning team while mentoring junior planners.Key Responsibilities:Advising clients on planning strategy and guiding them through the planning processManaging a broad portfolio of planning projects and clientsPreparing and submitting planning applications and supporting documentationWorking on projects across planning regimes including Environmental, Marine, Renewable and Major InfrastructureEngaging with local authorities, stakeholders and communitiesSupporting and managing Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA), including coordination and deliveryStaying up to date with planning policy, legislation and best practiceMentoring and supporting junior members of the planning teamAbout You:Relevant degree in Town Planning or a related disciplineRelative planning experience within consultancy or similar environmentIdeally Chartered Member of the RTPI (or working towards chartered status)Strong communication, client-facing and stakeholder engagement skillsProactive approach to project management and problem-solvingExperience with EIA and large-scale infrastructure or environmental planning is desirableCommitment to sustainable and responsible developmentWhat's on Offer:Competitive salary with flexible benefits packageComprehensive training and professional development support, including RTPI feesContributory pension, private healthcare and life assurance33 days annual leave (inclusive of public holidays) with buy/sell optionsInterest-free travel loan schemeBonus schemes including loyalty and qualification awardsClear progression pathway to Associate and Director levelThis is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious planner looking to join a reputable consultancy with a strong pipeline of work and a supportive, collaborative culture. xjdpvnf Interested?The hiring manager is looking to meet with suitable candidates ASAP so if you meet the above criteria, please contact Josh Jones on or
