Managing Director | Rochester | Full Time | Monday Friday, 9:00am 5:00pm | 70,000 - 100,000 DOE Our client, established in 1998, is a leading specialist in the design and installation of high-end windows, doors, and conservatories across both the commercial and residential sectors. They are now seeking a Managing Director to lead the business and drive overall performance. What's in it for you? To thrive in this role, you will bring: Proven experience as a Managing Director, General Manager, Operations Director, or similar senior leadership role A background within construction, manufacturing, glazing, windows/doors, or a related sector Experience in owner-managed or SME environments A strong track record of improving operational performance and profitability A hands-on, practical, and commercially minded leadership style Confidence to make decisions and lead through change Strong communication skills, with the ability to align teams around clear priorities Accountability, resilience, and a results-focused mindset High personal integrity, with a structured, pragmatic, and solutions-oriented approach An entrepreneurial mindset paired with operational discipline What will your role look like? As Managing Director, you will take full responsibility for the day-to-day leadership, performance, and strategic direction of the business. This is a hands-on role combining strategy with execution. Key responsibilities include: Full ownership of business performance, including P&L, budgeting, forecasting, and cash-flow management Developing and delivering a clear business and growth strategy aligned to commercial objectives Translating strategy into actionable plans, KPIs, and measurable outcomes Leading all operational areas, including production, installation, sales, supply chain, and aftersales Driving improvements in efficiency, quality, productivity, and on-time delivery Introducing structure, systems, and accountability without over-complicating the business Improving margins and profitability through strong commercial decision-making Building, leading, and developing a capable senior management team Creating a performance-driven culture with clear ownership and accountability Recruiting, retaining, and developing key talent across the business Acting as the senior representative of the business with key customers, suppliers, and partners Working closely with the owner, providing visibility, assurance, and confidence as they step back from day-to-day operations What success looks like: A clear strategy and operating rhythm established Improved operational consistency and financial performance Strong margin control and profitability A confident, accountable leadership team is in place Owners can step back from daily operations with confidence What's next?
