The Opportunity: The role of Head of Operations (Director Designate) is an opportunity to be part of a committed team, and directly influential in the future policies and direction of company development. It is anticipated that the Head of Operations would in due course be appointed to the board of directors. Further, for the person who demonstrates the necessary skills, commitment, and capabilities, there would be a future opportunity to succeed the current Managing Director, who would continue as Chairman. Purpose of the Job The key task for this new role is to establish a sustainable model of operational management excellence through effective leadership and management. Strong in people management and development, you will truly enable and empower the existing team to achieve excellent manufacturing performance. The successful candidate will need to be an aspirational role model to turn enthusiastic and competent managers into great managers and to identify the rising stars for good succession/workforce planning. You will bring a clear and credible management style and culture to Tecni-Form and instil high quality management techniques, including lean manufacturing principles (Six Sigma, 5S) & people management methods into the operational teams. Key Strategic Responsibilities: Leading Operations which includes, Production, Maintenance, Quality, HSE, HR, Customer service / planning. Lead and manage the full Operations function across multiple lines and shifts. Ensure targets (output, quality, efficiency) are consistently achieved or exceeded. Maintain and drive Lean Manufacturing, JIT, and continuous improvement methodologies across the plant, including implementation in the present ongoing programme of robotics, advanced manufacturing techniques, and energy resource management. Manage planning in collaboration with supply chain, logistics, and engineering teams. Ensure compliance with quality standards. Support new product introductions and processes and pre-production builds. Maintain high standards of health 'safety, working closely with HSE teams to reduce risk and maintain compliance. Manage cost reduction initiatives, and productivity improvements. Coach, develop, and motivate the production management and teams. Collaborate with quality, maintenance, and engineering functions to ensure seamless operations and quick resolution of downtime or quality issues. Support cross-functional problem solving, including root cause analysis and corrective actions. Key Commercial Responsibilities Maintain a close relationship with major customers, and be able to represent the company at meetings. Collaborate with financial, technical and commercial management in achieving profit performance. Ensure delivery on capital expenditure programmes. Maintain close working relationship with major suppliers, involving negotiation of on key contracts. Work with HR and HS contractors to ensure compliance in safe working conditions and staff relations. Essential Criteria: Extensive experience managing a manufacturing operation is essential, including at least 5 years managing teams. Demonstrable lean and quality improvement experience with multiple examples of identifying and leading such measurable improvements over many years is essential. Strong technical and commercial experience Results driven with a proven track record of operational management excellence and driving change and culture Comfortable leading and / or mentoring others Proactive, curious and solution oriented Strong business acumen with a desire to be heavily involved in the Companys strategy and growth Person Specification: Strategic thinker you know how to think differently, to reflect and to dig deeper to find the best outcomes when analysing processes, developing metrics, and making informed decisions. Strong communicator you know how to tailor your communications, and you have excellent interpersonal skills. You are tactful, confident, and clear when communicating.
