Key Skills & Experience required:Transport Manager CPC required Key duties of the Transport Manager will include: Management of the transport team within the office and ensuring they are carrying out duties correctly and identifying any training requirementsDriver recruitment and management including any additional training which requirements identifiedOverall responsibility for the planning, reviewing and improving delivery schedules to ensure route optimisationEnsure that the entire team including drivers are professional when dealing with customersWork with other departments to ensure we manage to service our customer requirementsMake decisions on vehicle operations during adverse weather to ensure safe running of the fleetEnsure subcontractor relationships are in place for different regions to cover work going to destinations where it is not efficient to send our own fleetIdentify and negotiate with agencies to ensure we can source reliable drivers at short notice when requiredReview the costs of vehicle maintenance and identify any recurring issues causing additional costOwnership P&L of the transport department, ensuring costs are monitored and any areas of overspend are identified and correctedMonitoring cost recovery on jobs and flagging up any potential routes where it is not cost effective to deliver at current rates to sales/financeWork to improve department KPIs and identify any additional KPIs which could improve understanding of performanceManage the company’s Operator’s licence to enable us to run a fleet of HGV VehiclesEnsure that all vehicles are compliant and work with the mechanic to resolve any issues identifiedElevation Recruitment Group is a specialist recruitment consultancy that helps people build long-term, successful careers.
