This sitebased role puts you at the heart of a nationally significant project driving the UKs netzero transition.The role at a glanceYoull act as the environmental specialist for the contract - guiding teams, shaping compliance, managing supply chain standards, and ensuring environmental performance is consistently high across a complex brownfield site.What youll be doing:Driving compliance: Support leadership and site teams to apply SHE standards and meet all regulatory requirements.Upskilling teams: Deliver practical training and coaching so environmental awareness becomes everyday practice.Owning reporting: Produce timely environmental data and insights that influence decisions and improvement plans.Engaging the supply chain: Review contractor documentation, check compliance, and raise performance expectations.Strengthening assurance: Participate in audits, close out findings, and embed lessons learned.Investigating issues: Support incident investigations and help prevent repeat events with clear, actionable insights.Who theyre looking for:Contaminated land experience: Comfortable working on brownfield sites and dealing with ground risk challenges.Practical project exposure: Experience in an environmental role within infrastructure, energy, or similar sectors.Clear communicator: Able to translate technical detail into simple, useful guidance for diverse teams.Compliancefocused: Key understanding of legislation, consents, and environmental management systems.Collaborative operator: Confident working with multiple stakeholders and supply chain partners.
