Enterprise Architect / Solutions Architect Consultant (Outside IR35) Day Rate: Approx. £700 per day (Outside IR35) Engagement Type: Statement of Work / Project-Based Contract Duration: Initial 3–6 months initially Working Pattern: Part-time (2 days per week) Location: Remote, with occasional travel to London Engagement OverviewWe are seeking an experienced Enterprise Architect / Solutions Architect Consultant to deliver clearly defined architectural outputs as part of a time-bound engagement. The consultant will be contracted on a deliverables-based Statement of Work (SOW), operating independently and providing expert guidance without supervision. Project DeliverablesThe consultant will be engaged to deliver the following outcomes:Design and document enterprise-wide architecture solutions aligned with strategic business objectives.Produce architecture artefacts including current and future state models, technology roadmaps, and integration strategies.Recommend and document technology platforms, integration approaches, and governance models.Present architectural options and recommendations to stakeholders, ensuring alignment with business and IT strategies.Conduct impact assessments and risk analysis for technology change initiatives.Ensure architecture designs comply with relevant regulations, security standards, and sector best practices, particularly within banking/finance.Provide independent review and assurance over internal solution designs and architectural direction.Required ExpertiseThe consultant must possess demonstrable, independent expertise in the following areas:Enterprise architecture design and implementation within regulated financial services environments.Deep understanding of modern IT infrastructure and platforms including cloud (AWS, Azure, GCP), microservices, containerization, and APIs.Knowledge of enterprise frameworks such as TOGAF, ArchiMate, and associated methodologies.Familiarity with regulatory standards and security considerations within the financial services domain.Extensive experience in Agile delivery environments, advising from an architectural perspective.Ability to engage independently with senior stakeholders and deliver concise architectural guidance.Engagement TermsThe engagement is Outside IR35, based on the nature of the services provided, control, substitution rights (where appropriate), and absence of mutuality of obligation.Work is to be conducted independently, without line management responsibilities or integration into client teams beyond essential collaboration.The consultant is responsible for their own working methods, equipment, and schedule, within the agreed project milestones and deadlines.
