Job Description About the RoleWe are currently seeking an experienced Profile Burner / Lumsden Grinder Operator to join our busy fabrication workshop. The successful candidate will be responsible for cutting and grinding steel plate components to precise engineering specifications.This is a hands-on role suited to someone with strong fabrication experience and a solid understanding of heavy steel processing.Key ResponsibilitiesSet up and operate oxy-fuel and/or plasma profile burning machines (CNC or manual)Cut steel plate to engineering drawings and required tolerancesOperate Lumsden (rotary surface) grinding machinesGrind components to specified thickness and flatnessCarry out dimensional checks using measuring equipmentMaintain machinery and change consumables as requiredFollow all health & safety proceduresRequirementsProven experience in profile burning and Lumsden grindingAbility to read and interpret engineering drawingsExperience working with thick carbon steel plateGood understanding of tolerances and surface finishesStrong attention to detailOverhead crane experience (preferred but not essential)What We OfferCompetitive salary (DOE)Overtime opportunitiesStable, long-term positionSupportive workshop environmentPPE providedIf you are an experienced operator looking for a secure role within a growing company, we would like to hear from you.JBRP1_UKTJ
